Elizabeth Lewis

Winner of both the 2017 Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship from the Australia Council for the Arts and The Opera Foundation for young Australians’ Lady Fairfax New York Scholarship and the 2015 Sydney Opera House Award. Elizabeth Lewis is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University where she completed her Bachelor of Music in 2008 and Master of Music Studies in 2010, before being granted a full scholarship to the University of Melbourne from which she graduated with a Master of Music, in 2015.

In the United States, Elizabeth has sung Rosalinda in Die Fledermaus with the Fargo-Moorhead Opera. Prior to this, Elizabeth was a member the company’s Young Artist Program. While in the program she sang the roles of Daters 5, 8 and 22 in Speed Dating Tonight! and Edith in Pirates of Penznce.

In Australia, Elizabeth became a member of the Young Artist Programs both of Opera Q and the Victorian Opera. While still a YAP, Elizabeth was invited to perform Dido in Dido and Aeneas at Brisbane Baroque Festival 2015. This December, Elizabeth will return to Australia to sing the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos with the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School, conducted by Simone Young AM.
