An Evening of Broadway from Stage to Screen

Join us for an offering of smart and witty songs that reveal an array of emotions and textures, as well as lyrics that are sometimes risqué and often quite deeply emotional.Soprano Amy Pfrimmer and pianist Dreux Montegut share Broadway’s vast arsenal of humor, sensuality, and yearning. The show includes songs written for stage and film by Gershwin, Kern, Porter, and Weill. You will hear instantly recognizable favorites paired with Broadway’s more obscure, unheralded gems. Alexander Awards Concert

This year we changed the name of our annual Voices of Mississippi Competition to the John Alexander Vocal Competition. John Alexander (1923-1990) was an internationally known operatic tenor from Meridian, Mississippi.
The purpose of this competition is to identify and recognize outstanding vocal opera and musical theatre talent, from and in the state of Mississippi. Competition winners will perform in the Alexander Awards Concert
Amahl and the Night Visitors

A lovely family-friendly Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors tells of the story of the night the Three Kings who are following the star to Bethlehem. They stop for shelter at the home of Amahl, a poor, crippled shepherd boy who lives with his widowed mother. Inspired by the Wise Mens’ tale of a kingdom “built on love alone,” Amahl offers his own simple gift to the Christ Child…and then a miracle happens…..

Voted multiple times as “Best Musician” by the Jackson Free Press, he has performed and/or recorded with numerous artists including the Dee Barton Orchestra, HBO, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Carmine Appice, Dorothy Moore, The Vamps, and The Barry Leach Group.
British Invasion II- Sgt. Pepper’s and Beyond

“British Invasion II” picks up where last years smash hit left off. It begins with Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band and continues with more music by the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Queen, and goes all the way to Pink Floyd’s groundbreaking The Wall.Our original “British Invasion” show celebrated the arrival of the Beatles in the U.S. in 1964 and the start of the British Invasion. It included music by the Beatles, the Dave Clark Five, the Kinks, the Rolling Stones, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Herman’s Hermits, and The Who.
